Evelin Soosaar-Penttilä (born 1985) received a BA in international relations and political theory from the University of Tartu and has a MEGA Plus diploma from the Media Business School in Spain. At the moment, she is obtaining an MA from Tallinn University's Baltic Film and Media School, majoring in television.
Evelin has participated in Robert McKee's Story workshop in London, the VFX Script to Screen course in Dublin, received a Nipkow scholarship to study in Berlin, and is training at EAVE Producers Workshop 2016 edition.
She has worked as a producer since 2009, starting at Mustfilm (2009-2011), continuing at Allfilm (2011-2015) and, since summer 2015, at Amrion. In 2015, Evelin founded the company Stellar Films, which offers audiovisual production services for foreign productions in Estonia on a project basis. She has international work experience, having done an internship at Film and Music Entertainment in London, marketed Pure Scandinavia, which acts as a subcontractor for commercials productions in Finland, and worked as an assistant for producer Judy Tossell in Berlin's Egoli Tossell Film.
Evelin has produced the short films “Legend of the Mighty Soap” (2011), “The Writer" (2012), “Mai” (2013), the cross-media project consisting of a TV series and a feature film, "Zero Point" (2014/2015), and, in collaboration with Taska Film, the feature film „Class Reunion” (2016).
At the moment, she is developing feature film “Innocent Lies” and is a co-producing feature film "Mihkel" (Iceland-Estonia-Norway) which is currently in production.
